About

OUR CORE:

First Baptist Church Spring Hill is a smaller church in an older community of Spring Hill, but we are a growing church still proclaiming the relevant Gospel of Jesus Christ. While we are not a politically correct church, we strive to be a Biblically correct church. In a world that is growing more apathetic toward a need for faith and God in life, we strongly believe God has a purpose and plan for every life that is fulfilled and enriched through a personal relationship with Jesus.

As a church family, we believe our Christian faith and personal relationship to Jesus grows stronger with active involvement in a body of believers, i.e., the Church.

We welcome anyone seeking to know and grow more in their faith journey. Our relaxed, casual fellowship is a great place to cultivate your spiritual experience.

WHO WE ARE:

First Baptist Church of Spring Hill is part of the Southern Baptist Convention and our beliefs are in line with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message. The 2000 Baptist Faith and Message can be read at www.sbc.net/bfm2000 (click Baptist Faith and Message on the right side), or you can call the church office to request a printed copy.

A portion of the donations of tithes and offerings given at First Baptist Church Spring Hill are sent to the Florida Baptist Convention as part of the Cooperative Program. The Cooperative Program uses these funds to transform lives and spread the gospel message throughout Florida, our country and the world.

SERVICES:

We have church services on Sunday mornings. At 9:30 am we have two adult Bible studies. The mixed group (open to both men and women) is held in a classroom in our Fellowship Hall building. The women’s group meets in classroom 1 in the Worship Center. Our worship service begins at 10:45 am.

Music is led by a praise and worship band comprised of members of the church. The music is mostly contemporary Christian with a few old time hymns now and then.

Children are dismissed after after the music for Sunday School so parents can concentrate on the message.

Wednesdays at 6:30 pm, we have a time of praise and worship followed by a Bible study led by one of our pastors. The youth leave the worship hall to have their own Bible study. Children in grades K-5th enjoy an evening of Bible lesson, snack and maybe a game or movie.

The first Sunday of each month we hold a potluck dinner after the worship service in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is asked to bring a food dish to share. We have some amazing cooks in our congregation! All who attend have a wonderful time of fellowship.

The fourth Tuesday of each month, we have an open food pantry from 9:30 am until noon (depending on supply). The food is supplied by Jericho Road Ministries and the donations of our congregation. The pantry is held in the Fellowship Hall.

PHILANTHROPY:

We do mission fund raising at Christmas, Easter and Mother’s Day. The special collection taken at Christmas is Lottie Moon. This money is used to support international missionaries. During Easter, we have our Annie Armstrong collection. The funds from this special offering are used to support North American missions. On Mother’s Day, we collect a special offering for the Florida Baptist Children’s Home.

Our church also participates in Operation Christmas Child each year. Samaritan’s Purse uses gift boxes to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. These boxes are packed with toys, school supplies, hygiene items and other things. In August we begin to collect funds for shipping and do a donation drive for items to pack the boxes. We hold a packing party on a Wednesday night the week before the national collection week (usually in mid-November).
