When not to Pray

This Sunday, Senior Pastor Dr. Eddie Gandy shares some comforting words about prayers and not losing heart. He also explains that God is not our Heavenly sugar daddy and tells us that there is a time to stop praying and start moving. To turn our lives around, we need to DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. He further expands on the need for fellowship, tithing, repentance, trust and obedience.

Text: Philippians 4:6, I Thessalonians 5:17, 12, Luke 18:1, 7

Introduction:

I.  When God has already given instruction.

A. Move to Action: Exodus 14:15

  1. Be saved: II Peter 3:9, I Timothy 2:3-4
  2. Repent: Luke 13:3
  3. Be Baptized: Acts 2:38
  4. Get involved in Church: Hebrews 10:24-25
  5. Give: Proverbs 3:9, Malachi 3:9-10

II. When we have a rebellious spirit: Proverbs 28:9

III. When we refuse to listen: Jeremiah 14:10-12, Proverbs 1:28-30

IV. When we have un-confessed sin: Isaiah 59:2, Psalms 66:18

Conclusion: I John 1:9, Romans 10:13, Psalms 139:23-24, II Chronicles 7:14.

On February 12th, there will be a Valentine’s Day dinner and show. If you would like to attend, tickets are available for purchase now until February 5th for $5.00 each. Tickets will no longer be available for purchase after the 9th of February.

We still have a fundraiser on the back table to provide scholarships for the youth to go to camp. If you would like to donate, just take one of the numbered envelopes and place the amount written inside. Then place the envelope in the offering plate. Any help offered will be appreciated.

IN PROSPECT 02-02-2020

This Sunday, join us at 9:30 AM for Adult Bible Study and Women’s Bible Study. Afterwards, there will be music from our Praise Team and Worship Service at 10:45 AM.

This week, Senior Pastor Dr. Eddie Gandy’s sermon titled, “When Not To Pray”, will discuss verses; Philippians 4:6, I Thessalonians 5:17, 12, Luke 18:1, 7 with further focus on Philippians 4:2-3, 6, I Thessalonians 5:17, 12, Luke 18; 1, 7, Exodus 14:15, II Peter 3:9, I Timothy 2:3-4, Luke 13:3, Acts 2:38, Hebrews 10:24-25, Proverbs 3:9, Malachi 3:9-10, Proverbs 28:9, Jeremiah 14:10-12, Proverbs 1:28-30, Isaiah 59:2, Psalms 66:18, I John 1:9, Romans 10:13, Psalms 139:23-24 and II Chronicles 7:14. Today we will be hosting our monthly potluck. Everyone is welcome to join us after service. If you would like to contribute a covered dish, please bring it to the Fellowship Hall.

The Valentine’s dinner and show will be on February 12th at 6:30pm. If you would like to buy tickets, they are $5.00 each and will be available after worship service. Tickets will only be for sale until February 9th. For more information, please see the Bulletin Board page of our website.

We are still collecting for camp scholarships. If you would like to make a donation, there is a board filled with assorted envelopes on the back table in the worship center. Each envelope has a donation amount written on it. Just place the amount written on the envelope inside of it and place it in the offering plate. For additional information about the scholarship fund, please speak with Youth Pastor Alex Williams.

Winter Youth Camp will be the 7th through the 9th of this month at Word of Life.
