Our Pastor, Dr. Eddie Gandy has been in pastoral ministry since 1975. Before entering the pastoral ministry, he served in the United States Army and worked in the corporate world with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi. He has pastored churches in Mississippi, Lousiana, West Virginia and Florida. He and his wife, Carmen have been married since 1966 and have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Both of their grown children are in ministry also. Dr. Gandy began his pastoral work with First Baptist Church of Spring Hill in December of 2017.
First, let me thank you for checking into our website. We hope it will provide you with a glimpse of who we are and information that will be helpful. I have retired three times but God keeps opening doors for me to continue doing what I love to do, share the amazing story of God’s love, Jesus’ ministry and helping people to find and live in the blessing and joy of a dynamic relationship with God.
I have heard the millennial generation use the expression, “we want to follow our passion.” Well, the good Lord has let me fulfill my passion of preaching for more than 43 years. We at First Baptist Church Spring Hill are in a rebuilding mode and are excited about what God is doing in our church family. Carmen and I are delighted and grateful to be a part of this precious family of faith.
We would love to have you visit and worship with us. Come and get a feel for who we are and where we feel God leading. It just might be that God would have you become part of our family and help us reach the community and the world in our journey of service to God and ministry to man.
Associate Pastor – Steve Celinski
Pastor Steve has been involved in evangelism and outreach for over 25 years. He has done pastoral care, counseled and started a recovery ministry. Pastor Celinski was born in Glen Cove, New York and has been married to his wife for more than 45 years. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren who he loves to spend time with. Pastor Celinski has a passion to share his faith in Jesus Christ with others and helping them to grow in their relationship with Christ through the Word of God.
Two of my favorite verses are, John 15:5, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
2 Corinthians 5:20 , “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”
Director of Youth Ministries – Alex Williams
Alex has been in ministry since 2010. He volunteered in the greeting ministry at his church in Atlanta. Most recently he assisted in running the children’s program at FBC Brooksville. When he wasn’t sharing the gospel with children he was leading a small group for junior high boys and being a leader for the youth ministry. Alex was born in New Orleans, LA and grew up in a Christian home. His family moved around a lot due to his father’s work. He moved to Florida in 2017 and proudly considers it home. Alex graduated from Luther Rice University in 2015 with a bachelors of arts in ministry. He joined our church in the fall of 2018.
My passion is for children and youth ministries. They are truly the next generation of the church. I want to share the gospel and help them understand what it means for them. I want all of our children and youth in our church to know that they are valued and important.
My favorite verse is Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” No matter what we are going through God has a plan and purpose for us all.
Church Secretary – Pam Lain
Pam has faithfully been attending First Baptist Church Spring Hill for 15 years. She became the secretary of the church in June of 2015. In addition to running the office, Pam teaches the Women’s Bible Study group on Sunday mornings, operates the power point during Worship services and leads the Youth Bible Study on Wednesday evenings.
Pam has believed in God and Jesus Christ, His only Son for most of her life. She confesses that she didn’t actually learn to believe in God until much later in life, when she completed reading the Chronological Bible in a year. She was pretty amazed that after reading the entire Bible, God’s message to her was a simple, “Believe me.” Pam continues to read through the Chronological Bible each year to keep her focus on Him and recommends everyone should spend time in God’s word on a daily basis.
Pam has been married to John Lain for over 35 years and they have two grown children, one in the ministry and one in the military.
